3 ways to eat banana bread

- 1/2 tbsp 奶油
- 1 tbsp
- 1 tsp
In my last article, I shared my all‑time favorite banana bread recipe — have you tried it yet? Beyond enjoying banana bread on its own, what pairings do you usually love? In this piece, we’re unlocking three delectable ways to savor banana bread and give it a whole new twist!

1. Coffee whipped cream & warm banana “toast”
This pairing may look like French toast with ice cream, but it’s actually quite different. Ice cream usually brings a strong sweetness, while homemade cream simply lends a rich dairy aroma to the warm banana bread, along with a cool, silky texture. Instead of overshadowing the delicious banana bread, it levels it up — and the bitter notes of coffee provide the perfect counterpoint.
All you need
Banana bread:
- 1 pc Banana bread, thick cut
- 1/2 tsp Butter
Coffee whipped cream:
- 1/4 cup Cream
- 1tsp Icing Sugar
- 1tsp Freeze dried instant coffee
- 2drops of Vanilla extract
- Cocoa powder (optional)
Steps of making
- Mix all the ingredients for the coffee cream and chill for 10 minutes to let the coffee dissolve.
- Whip the coffee cream — either to soft peaks or stiff peaks, depending on the texture you prefer.
- Keep the whipped cream chilled until ready to use.
- Place the banana bread (at room temperature) on a pan over low heat and dry‑sear until both sides are goldena and crispy
- Spread butter over both sides of the toasted banana bread and plate it.
- Add a generous spoonful of coffee cream on top.
- Dust with cocoa powder (optional).
- Dig in right away!

2. Crispy banana bread with cold slap of butter
Just like the previous method, this banana cake is pan‑seared until crisp on the outside and soft inside, then topped with a slab of frozen butter, a sprinkle of sea salt, and a touch of cinnamon. The whole combination is hot yet cold, sweet yet salty — almost like a quirky version of kaya toast. But of course, this is even better, hehe!
All you need
- Banana Bread
- Unsalted/ Salted butter
- Sea salt (when using unsalted butter only)
- Cinnamon powder
Steps of making
- Slice the butter and place it on baking paper, then freeze.
- Pan‑sear the banana cake on a dry pan, over low heat until extra crispy.
- Plate the cake, top with the frozen butter, and sprinkle with sea salt and cinnamon.
- Don’t wait even a second , you should dig in right away! XD

3. Banana bread french toast & Peanut butter
French toast is especially perfect for rescuing dry bread, and banana cake is no exception! The result is a moist, almost melt‑in‑your‑mouth banana bread, enriched with the nutty aroma and creaminess of peanut butter… absolutely divine!
All you need
- 1 slice banana bread, thick‑cut, room temperature
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tbsp cream
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp butter
- Peanut butter, as needed
Steps of making
- Combine the egg, butter, and cream in a small bowl and whisk until will combined.
- Soak the banana bread in the egg mixture for two minutes on each side.
- Transfer the cake to a clean plate or bowl and let it sit for two minutes to drain excess egg mixture.
- Heat a pan over low heat and melt the butter.
- Place the banana cake in the pan and sear slowly over low heat, turning to cook all six sides until golden, about 6–8 minutes.
- Plate the banana bread, then drizzle or spread with peanut butter.
- Done — enjoy!
Cheen’s Little Tips
- If your banana bread has been sitting for a few days and feels a little dry, and you’d like to enjoy it with method 1 or 3, you can add a bit of butter while pan‑searing, or spoon in some water at the edge of the pan (away from the cake) to create steam. This will help the cake to be moist!
- And to you who’ve read all the way to the end — you must be a true banana‑bread lover! No doubt about it! Then you absolutely should not be missing out my Banana Bread Recipe!
